I’ve never taken the straight path — not in life, and certainly not in storytelling.
I left home at 17 with nothing but instinct and imagination to guide me.
Since then, I’ve walked through more chapters than I could’ve ever planned — some authored by me, others imposed without consent.
I’ve faced homelessness, heartbreak, bullying, betrayal, and systemic silencing.
But I’ve also found love, built businesses, opened doors for others, and dared to turn my scars into stories.
I am neurodivergent. I see the world in kaleidoscope — where stories shimmer just beneath the surface, waiting to be told.
I’ve written from the shadows and spoken from the side-lines. But Daddy’s Army changed all that.
It’s the creative culmination of everything.
I’ve lived, lost, loved, and learned.
Each character I write is a reflection — of someone I was, someone I knew, or someone I needed.
This work is my way of saying:
Your past doesn’t define you. Your truth empowers you. Your voice matters.
To the dreamers: don’t wait for permission.
Tell your story. Build your stage. Speak it into reality.
Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do… is simply show up as yourself.
Daddy’s Army is a bold, heartfelt, and unapologetically queer reimagining of the beloved classic Dad’s Army. Set in modern-day Blackpool, this sharp-witted comedy follows five LGBTQ+ misfits who, after being rejected by official military service during a national crisis, form their own home defence brigade. What begins as an eccentric act of resistance becomes a deeply moving and hilarious journey about identity, pride, and the right to protect one’s home and chosen family.

Think: It’s a Sin meets Derry Girls, Priscilla with a splash of
The Full Monty and a lot of glitter under fire.
When war looms and queer citizens are deemed “unfit to serve,” a fierce drag queen, a trans ex-soldier, a refugee, a viral influencer, and a sardonic theatre veteran form Blackpool’s most unlikely defence unit—Daddy’s Army.
Tony Cox has always been a storyteller—sometimes by choice, other times by necessity.
At age 10, a story he wrote was replied to by
Her Majesty The Queen of England herself.
Since then, he has lived dreams and survived storms, channelling life into art with raw authenticity.
As Violet, the youngest of drag legend Lily Savage’s chosen family, Tony learned that chosen love is real love—and that joy can be an act of rebellion.
Daddy’s Army is his tribute to those who wear glitter as armour and humour as survival.
